How Many Outfits Do You Need for a Boudoir Shoot?

One of the first questions I get after someone books a boudoir session with me is, “Okay Charlene… how many outfits do I need?”

Whether you’re coming to us from Nashville, Middle Tennessee, Huntsville or somewhere in between, the answer is usually pretty simple. Depending on the collection you choose, we’ll typically photograph 2–4 different outfits during your session.

And before you start panic-ordering lingerie online you do NOT need to go buy a whole new wardrobe. If you do want to bring something new, stores like Adore Me have tons of lingerie styles and a wide range of sizes.

Depending on the collection you choose, we’ll typically photograph 2–4 different outfits during your session. That gives us plenty of variety without spending half of your shoot changing clothes.

At Honey Bacon Boudoir, we have an extensive client closet with hundreds of pieces in sizes XS–6X, and it’s there for you to use during your session.

What Should I Wear for My Boudoir Session?

Your outfits don’t all have to be traditional lingerie. Honestly, I love when we mix things up because it makes your final gallery feel so much more like YOU.

You might wear a classic black bodysuit for one look and then switch to a lace set, an oversized sweater, your partner’s button-down or jersey. We can also do something super simple like just the sheets.

One look might feel soft and romantic while another is completely hot as hell. 🔥

When you get here, we’ll go through your options together and figure out what makes sense for the look you want.

What If I Don’t Own Any Lingerie?

Then don’t worry about it.

Seriously, you do not need to spend hundreds of dollars buying lingerie just for your boudoir session.

Our Boudoir client closet has hundreds of pieces in sizes XS through 6X, including bodysuits, lingerie sets, robes, shoes, accessories and more.

You also don’t need to know what style is going to look good on your body. That’s part of what I’m here for. I know what photographs well, and I’ll help you pull pieces that work for you.

And sometimes the piece you look at on the hanger and immediately say “NOPE” to ends up being your favorite. Trust me on this one.

Should I Bring My Own Outfits?

Absolutely. If you have something you love or something that has meaning to you, bring it!

Maybe it’s your favorite lingerie set, your husband’s button-down, a jersey, a leather jacket, your wedding veil or that piece you bought three years ago and have never actually had the nerve to wear.

We can mix things you bring from home with pieces from our client closet. You don’t have to decide everything before you arrive.

Do More Outfits Mean More Photos?

Not necessarily.

This is one of the biggest things women don’t realize before their session. We can create a TON of variety with one outfit.

The same black bodysuit can look completely different depending on where we photograph it, how I pose you, the lighting, the angle and whether I’m shooting a full-body image or getting in close for all those little details.

That’s why you really don’t need 10 outfits. I’d much rather spend your session actually photographing you and creating different looks than have you running back to the dressing room every five minutes.

Don’t Stress About Your Boudoir Outfits

Depending on the collection you choose, you’ll have 2–4 outfit changes, and we’ll make sure each one gives you something different.

You can bring your own pieces, use our client closet or do a little bit of both.

We photograph women from Nashville, Middle Tennessee, Huntsville and all over the surrounding area, and you definitely don’t need to show up knowing exactly what to wear. That’s part of the experience.

I help with the wardrobe. I help with the posing. I tell you what to do with your hands, your legs and even your face.

You just have to show up. We’ll take care of the rest. 🖤
